Meeting Point: In front of the Visitor Centre, the one close to the Cutty Sark with a statue of Sir Walter Raleigh outside.
A 2 hour walking tour with our LearnArtory Blue Badge guide, taking in Sir Christopher Wren’s magnificent Old Royal Naval College, commissioned by William III and Mary II for old and injured sailors.
Here we will visit the Painted Hall, Sir James Thornhill’s masterpiece considered to be the Sistine Chapel of England. We will also visit the Queen’s House, with its spectacular collection of maritime painting and royal portraiture.
Advice to participants:
– Wear ultra-comfortable shoes.
– Check weather forecasts and make sure you have warm and waterproof clothes if necessary. Being cold on a walking tour can spoil the entire experience.
– Do not hesitate to bring a little snack with you (nuts or biscuits) and a flask of your favourite drink.
