Meeting Point: At the newly renamed Eden Dock, just opposite the main entrance/exit of the Jubilee Line, Canary Wharf Underground Station

Discover the history of London’s Docklands, first with a walk and be amazed by the story of this area’s rapid transformation over the past thirty years; from the once thriving first port of the British empire to the international business and financial district known as Canary Wharf.

Then with a visit to the Museum of London Docklands, taking you back to a time of pirates and press gangs, sailors and sea shanties.

Advice to participants:

– Wear ultra-comfortable shoes.

– Check weather forecasts and make sure you have warm and waterproof clothes if necessary. Being cold on a walking tour can spoil the entire experience.

– Do not hesitate to bring a little snack with you (nuts or biscuits) and a flask of your favourite drink.
