Discover the people, the stories and the ancient institutions that helped to create the City as the great trading centre it is today.
Learn about how the City has functioned since time immemorial and how its administration has been the blueprint for building a democratic governing body used the world over.
Highlights include a power house for citizens dating back over 600 years, a church garden where the City’s financial story begins and a Roman market place still selling goods today!
Advice to participants:
– Wear ultra-comfortable shoes.
– Check weather forecasts and make sure you have warm and waterproof clothes if necessary. Being cold on a walking tour can spoil the entire experience.
– Do not hesitate to bring a little snack with you (nuts or biscuits) and a flask of your favourite drink.
